How to play with hard questions
Hard questions work best when people have to defend their pick. Read a card out loud, count to three, and everyone points left for the first option or right for the second. Then the smaller side gets thirty seconds to change a few minds.
Play the whole list right here on one phone, or read it out loud on a call. The full rules and scoring ideas are on the would you rather page.
House rules for a good debate
The best rounds turn into friendly arguments. A few rules keep them friendly:
- No changing the question. The catch is part of the deal.
- Everyone gets one reason, and only one.
- If the room splits exactly in half, the reader breaks the tie.
- Keep score of who changed the most minds. That person picks the next group.
Impossible and Powers are the loudest groups. Life and Money & work start slower, deeper conversations, so they're good for a quieter table or a long drive. Everyday sits in between: small choices that somehow get the most passionate answers.
More questions to keep going
When the group wants something lighter, switch to funny would you rather questions, or try this or that for quick picks with no explaining. For a group of friends, most likely to is another easy favorite.
Hard questions also make a good warm-up for a bigger game night. Play five cards while everyone arrives, then move on to something louder like Imposter or charades once the whole group is in the room.

Questions
What makes a would you rather question hard?
Both options have to be close: equally good, equally bad, or good with a catch. The best hard questions split a room right down the middle.
Are these hard questions clean?
Yes. They're tough because of the choice, not the topic. There's nothing gross, scary or 18+, so they work with friends, coworkers or family.
How many people can play?
Two or more. With a big group, have everyone point on three and let each side argue its case.
Can we use these at work?
Yes. Money & work and Everyday are good meeting openers. One card takes about a minute.
Where are the easier questions?
The main would you rather game has over 300 cards in nine categories, from funny to food to superpowers.
