Free, no sign-up Spin the Wheel

Type your options, tap Spin and let the wheel decide. Use it as a random name picker, a decision wheel for dinner plans or a quick prize drawing at a party.

Tap Spin to pick one.

One per line, from 2 to 24.6 options
  1. Add your options

Type one option per line, from 2 to 24, or tap a quick list like "Yes / No" or "1 to 10".

  2. Tap Spin

The wheel turns for about four seconds and lands on one option. Every slice has the same chance.

  3. Draw without repeats

Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin" to pull names one at a time, like names from a hat.

How to use the spinning wheel

The wheel starts with six dinner ideas, so you can try it right away.

  1. 1Type your options in the box, one per line. The wheel holds 2 to 24, and every line becomes one slice.
  2. 2For a quick start, tap a ready-made list: "Yes / No" for a simple decision or "1 to 10" for a number. If your group has played our games in this browser, "Saved players" fills the wheel with their names.
  3. 3Tap "Spin". The wheel turns for about four seconds and slows to a stop. The result shows under "The wheel landed on".
  4. 4Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin" to draw names one at a time without repeats. Tap "Put them back" when you want the full list again.
  5. 5Leave "Sound" on to hear the wheel tick as it slows down, or switch it off in a quiet room.
  6. 6Check "Past spins" for the last 10 results. It settles any "wait, who did it land on?" debate.

Your list is saved in this browser, so it's still there the next time you open the page on this device. Nothing you type is sent to a server.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. Every slice is the same size, and each spin lands on a slice picked by your browser's secure random generator. Every option has exactly the same chance. Tapping harder, waiting longer or spinning right after someone else won makes no difference.

Each spin starts fresh. If Tacos won the last three times, Tacos still has the same chance as everything else on the next spin. Real randomness produces streaks more often than people expect.

Want to tip the odds on purpose? Write an option on two lines. With seven lines and Pizza on two of them, Pizza wins about 2 times in 7 instead of 1 in 7. It's a fun way to give the birthday person's favorite a small boost. Just tell the group first.

A random name picker wheel for class, work and parties

Put names on the wheel and it becomes a wheel of names: a fair way to choose who presents first, who picks the movie or who wins the door prize.

With "Remove the winner after each spin" turned on, the wheel works like names in a hat. Each winner comes off before the next spin, so nobody gets picked twice. Keep spinning until everyone has had a turn and you have a full random order. When the round is over, "Put them back" restores every name.

The wheel fits up to 24 names. For a bigger group, give everyone a number and use raffle mode in the Random Number Generator, which draws numbers one at a time without repeats.

What to put on a decision wheel

Where to eat

The sample list is a start. Swap in the places near you and end the "I don't know, what do you want?" loop in four seconds.

Who goes first

Add everyone's name before a board game, a card game or a trivia round. The wheel has no favorites.

Chores

List the jobs, spin once per person and turn on removal so nobody gets stuck with two.

Classroom turns

Pick who reads next, who answers the warm-up question or which group presents first. Students watch the wheel slow down like the end of a game show.

Prize drawings

Door prizes at an office party, a small raffle at a school fair or a giveaway among friends.

Yes or no

Tap "Yes / No" for a two-slice wheel. Dessert or not? One more round? Let the wheel break the tie.

Party games to play with the wheel

A wheel adds a little suspense to almost any game. These work for family nights, classrooms and parties with grown-ups.

Category race

Fill the wheel with categories like fruits, countries, animals, sports and things in a kitchen. Spin, and the player on turn names five things in that category within 30 seconds. One point per answer, and repeats don't count.

Challenge wheel

Write short, silly challenges: sing the chorus of any song, talk like a robot for a minute, do ten jumping jacks, tell a joke, do your best impression of the host. Whoever spins does the challenge. Turn on removal so each challenge comes up once.

Last name standing

Put everyone's name on the wheel and turn on removal. Each spin knocks one name out. The last name left wins the prize, picks the next game or gets the last slice of pizza.

Points wheel

Tap "1 to 10" and spin before each trivia question to see how many points it's worth. One lucky 10 near the end can change everything.

Tips for hosts and teachers

  • Keep options short. One or two words per line are easier to read on a crowded wheel.
  • For a class, type the list once at the start of the term. It stays saved in this browser until you clear the browser's data.
  • Use the same device for the whole event. The list lives in one browser, so a second phone starts with the sample options.
  • If someone says the wheel is rigged, let them tap "Spin" themselves.

Games and tools that go well with the wheel

The wheel picks who goes first. Our free one-phone party games handle the rest, with no sign-up and no app. Put a few on the wheel and spin for the next round: Charades for acting it out, Would You Rather for a quick debate, or Hot Potato, where you answer and pass the phone before a hidden timer goes off.

Need to split a whole list at once? The Random Team Generator deals names into even teams in one tap. For a turn order without typing a single name, Who Goes First lets everyone put a finger on the screen and the phone picks.

Questions

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. Each spin lands on a slice chosen by your browser's secure random generator, and every slice is the same size, so every option has the same chance.

Can I give one option better odds?

Yes. Write it on more than one line. Each line is its own slice, so an option on two lines out of seven has a 2 in 7 chance.

How many options can the wheel hold?

From 2 to 24. Type one option per line.

How do I stop the same name from being picked twice?

Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin". Each winner comes off the wheel before the next spin. Tap "Put them back" to bring the full list back.

Can I save my list?

It saves itself. Your options stay in this browser, so they're there next time on the same device. Nothing is sent to a server, so the list doesn't follow you to other devices.

Can I use it as a wheel of names for my class?

Yes. Type or paste up to 24 names, one per line, and turn on "Remove the winner after each spin" so everyone gets a turn before anyone goes twice.

Can I spin without sound?

Yes. Switch off "Sound" and the wheel spins silently.

Is Spin the Wheel free?

Yes. It's free, with no sign-up and no app to install. It runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer.
