How to play Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is a game of small confessions. The card says “Never have I ever…” and anyone who has done the thing has to own up. That's the whole game, and somehow there's always one story nobody saw coming.

This is the clean version. There are no drinking rules and no 18+ cards. You keep score with your fingers, so it works just as well at a teen birthday party as it does at a family dinner or a team meeting.

  1. 1Everyone holds up ten fingers. For a shorter game, start with five.
  2. 2Pick a category, or leave it on All. The first card is already on the screen, no start button needed.
  3. 3Read the card out loud. Anyone who has done it puts one finger down.
  4. 4Optional but strongly recommended: anyone who put a finger down tells the story in a sentence or two.
  5. 5Tap Next for the next card. You can also swipe on a phone or use the arrow keys on a laptop. Previous goes back one.
  6. 6When someone runs out of fingers, they're out. The last player with fingers still up wins.
