How to play at the Thanksgiving table
It works like the classic Never Have I Ever game: everyone holds up ten fingers, one person reads a card, and anyone who has done it puts a finger down. These cards are also in the full game as the Thanksgiving deck. A few ideas for the day itself:
- Wait until the plates are cleared. The stretch between dinner and pie is when nobody wants to get up anyway.
- Pass the phone after every card, so a grandparent and a teenager both get a turn reading.
- Start with In the kitchen or At the table. Everyone was there for those, so the first fingers go down fast.
- Ask for the story. When the cook puts a finger down for the giblets card, that's the best five minutes of the night.
- Play with five fingers if dessert is already on its way.
Playing at Friendsgiving
Friendsgiving is a different table: roommates, coworkers and the friend of a friend nobody has met yet. The Friendsgiving group was written for that crowd, with potluck mix-ups, tiny apartment ovens and dinner on the floor because there weren't enough chairs.
It also works as an icebreaker. A card like “spent Thanksgiving with a friend's family” gets people talking about where they're from and how their family does the holiday. When the group wants to get up and move, our Friendsgiving games have more one-phone ideas for a room full of friends.
Keeping it fun for the whole family
Every card is clean, with no drinking and nothing that asks anyone to share more than they want to. A few are small confessions, like passing off store-bought pie as homemade. Those land best when the person who did it laughs first.
If a card starts a debate, tap Next and keep going. A mixed table stays happy when the youngest player gets to pick the group for the next round. When everyone is ready for something new, the Thanksgiving games page has charades, trivia and more for the long afternoon, and the Thanksgiving most likely to questions keep the whole table playing at once.

Questions
Are these Thanksgiving questions OK for kids and grandparents?
Yes. They're clean, with no drinking and nothing 18+. Most cards are about food, family, travel and leftovers, so every generation at the table has something to put a finger down for.
When is the best time to play on Thanksgiving?
Right after dinner, while someone cuts the pie. It also works in the morning while the turkey roasts, or the next day over leftovers.
Does it work for Friendsgiving?
Yes. A whole group is about Friendsgiving: potlucks, small apartments and spending the holiday with friends. The rest of the cards work with friends too.
How many people can play?
Three or more, with no upper limit, since everyone answers at the same time with their fingers. One phone is enough for the whole table.
Can relatives who couldn't make it play along?
Yes. Share your screen on a video call, read each card out loud and have everyone hold their hands up to the camera.
Are these cards in the main game too?
Yes. They're the Thanksgiving deck in Never Have I Ever, which moves to the front of the deck picker in the weeks before Thanksgiving.
