Truth or dare for a Halloween sleepover
Halloween truth or dare works best after the candy has been sorted and the costumes are half off. Sit in a circle, open this page, and take turns tapping Truth or Dare. The phone deals a card from the Halloween pile.
Every dare here can be done in a living room with things you already have, and nothing needs food or anything messy. Nobody has to leave the room, and no dare involves anyone outside the group. The full rules are on the truth or dare page.
The cards are grouped by theme. Start with Costumes, since it gets everyone talking about the outfits in the room, then move on to Candy and Spooky once the group has warmed up. Save Party for the end of the night, when everyone is tired and silly.
A few house rules for a friendly game
A Halloween party mixes ages and friend groups, so set a couple of rules before the first turn. A minute of agreeing on them up front saves a lot of arguing later, and it helps the shy guests relax:
- Everyone gets one free pass for the night.
- Dares stay in the room, and nothing goes online.
- If a truth feels too personal, the player can pick a dare instead.
- The host can skip any card that doesn't fit the group.
With younger kids at a sleepover, a grown-up can read the cards and skip any that don't fit. With teens, let them run the phone themselves and keep the free pass rule.
