How to use these questions
Pick a group, open the first card and take turns answering. There's no score and no right answer. The only rule is to ask one follow-up question before you move on, because the follow-up is where the real conversation starts.
Our story and Everyday are easy openers. Dreams and Favorites are good for a long dinner. Save Deeper for a quiet evening when neither of you is in a hurry. The full game, with more categories, is on the get to know you questions page.
For new couples and long-term couples
If you've only been together a few months, start with Favorites and Dreams. They're light, and you'll learn a lot without either of you feeling put on the spot.
If you've been together for years, try Our story and Deeper. It's easy to stop asking questions when you think you already know the answers, and these cards are a nice reminder that you probably don't know all of them yet.
- Put the phones away except the one with the questions.
- Skip any card that doesn't feel right. There are plenty more.
- Come back to the same group in a year and see how the answers change.
More questions for two
For something more playful, try would you rather questions for couples or this or that questions for couples. The games for two page has more ideas for a night in.
A good mix for a long evening: start with ten quick this or that cards to warm up, move on to one group of these questions over dinner, and finish with a silly game like Draw & Guess when you want to laugh again.
